Terms of Service

Last updated: [set at launch]

The most important term: Home Advocate gives you educational information and decision support to help you understand your mortgage paperwork. It is not legal, financial, or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional.

1. What Home Advocate is — and isn't

Home Advocate helps you compare your Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure and understand what changed. We are not a lender, mortgage broker, law firm, real estate brokerage, title company, or financial adviser, and using the service does not create any professional-client relationship. We do not recommend loans or providers, and we take no payment from lenders.

2. Educational purpose; no advice

The information and questions we provide are for general educational purposes. We do not tell you whether to sign, whether a term is legally enforceable, or whether your loan is a good deal. Decisions about your mortgage are yours to make, ideally with a licensed attorney, your lender, or a HUD-approved housing counselor.

3. Your inputs and accuracy

Your review is based entirely on the numbers you enter. If those numbers are incomplete or mistyped, the results will reflect that. Always verify anything important against your actual documents and with your lender or closing agent. We make no guarantee that the tool will identify every issue in your transaction.

4. No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home Advocate and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make in connection with your mortgage, arising out of your use of the service.

6. Acceptable use

Please use the service for its intended, lawful purpose. Don't attempt to disrupt it, misuse it, or use it to harm others.

7. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update the service and these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
